The goal is achieved by the fact that in the device for replacing the tapered intermediate rolls in the multi-roll rolling stand by axial movement, containing a moving rod, at the end of which there is a gripper, made in the form of an open top bowl for receiving the rollers, the gripper is adapted for lateral movement perpendicular to the direction of movement of the and is equipped with a lateral displacement hydraulic cylinder, the body of which is an integral part of the gripper, and the piston is fixed to the shifting rod by means of a guide element, the gripper for two rolls being made common. The device for replacing the tapered intermediate rolls contains a moving rod 1, driven from the hydraulic cylinder 2. At the end of the rod 1, a guide 3 is fixed, with which the piston 5 of the hydraulic cylinder 6, which is in contact with the sliding surface 7 of the guide 3, is rigidly connected by means of the bar C. On the one side of the hydraulic cylinder 6, a grip 8 is attached, made in the form of a double bowl on top to receive intermediate rolls 9 through the bearing unit 10, having a groove 11. The device operates as follows. Before laying the new intermediate rolls 9, the hydraulic cylinder 6 is in the lower position.
